FULL INSTALLATIONS
Q. How do I move/install the Y9
Reporter Premier on another PC?
A. You will need a few things to do this properly. First you
will want to make a BACKUP using the Y9 Reporter’s backup
utility. This is found by opening the program and clicking
on the File menu option located on the upper left hand
corner of the program. You can save this backup file
anywhere, we just need to get it to the new machine.

FULL INSTALL FOR CD USERS
Simply insert your CD and it will install the full program.
After completing the install, open the program and restore
the backup. The Restore function is also found under the
File menu.
FULL INSTALL FOR INTERNET USERS
1. Go to our
website’s Home page
www.callreporter.com.
2. Go to where it says Software Support and select
Downloads. The next screen will ask you for your
institution’s name and a password. The password can be
found on the update letter or email that we send you
every quarter under the section “Alternative Update
Procedure”.
3. Enter this information and the next page will display
several choices. You will need the one that says Y9
Reporter Premier Main Program Installation for the
current or latest quarter. It will always be the largest
file for the latest quarter.
4. Click where it says Download Now and choose to
Save
it to your computer. DO NOT run it from its current
location. You will see a dialogue box that will allow
you to save it wherever you wish. We recommend that you
choose to save it to your Desktop. When the file is done
downloading it may ask you to run it and you may do so
at this point. You may run it at another time by
locating the downloaded file on your Desktop or wherever
you chose to save it. The name of the file will be
“y9win_xxx_setupy9.exe” where the “xxx” represents the
current quarter. The June 2009 quarter for example is
248. The September 2009 quarter is 249 and so on. You
can click on this file at any time to run the install.
5. After completing the install, open the program and
restore the backup. The Restore function is also found
under the File menu.
DOWNLOADING
FROM THE INTERNET
Q. Can I
update the Y9 from Internet?
A. Yes. Updating your Y9 Premier program can now be done in
the same manner as the Callreporter Premier program. You can
either open the program and choose Help/Check for Updates
at
the top of the screen or go to your Start button and go to
All Programs and look for Regulatory Reporting in your
program list. Mouse over it and you will see Y9 Reporter
Premier. Mouse over it and you will see Internet Update.
Select it and follow the prompts. It will automatically
download and install the Y9 Reporter Premier update.

Q. I’m on your website and I’m on the Download page and it
is asking me for a password. Where do I find my password?
A. We will send you
an email with all of the update instructions on it every
quarter. On that email there are the Alternate Update
instructions. In those instructions there is a password.
That password will get you into the Y9 Reporter Premier
download area.

Q. I’m trying to update the Y9 Reporter Premier but I get an
error message.
A. There are various
error messages that may appear when trying to update the Y9
Reporter Premier program. It is possible that our server is
busy and you may need to try again. If you have tried
several times and it still doesn’t work you may have a Proxy
Server and/or other security restrictions that will prevent
the download. The next thing to try is the Alternative
Update Process located on the email or letter that we send
you every quarter. If you still have trouble with this
process, check with your IT department or PC specialist to
see if you have a proxy server or if you have proper
authorization to download files. After trying these and you
still have trouble, call Tech Support at 800-825-3772.

Q. I’m trying to update the Y9 Reporter Premier but it says
that I already have the latest version.
A. If you know that
this is not true and you are sure that there is an update,
you will need to follow the steps describe above. There are
no restrictions on our website for downloading files. The
only thing that prevents downloading is security
restrictions on your end.

Q. I keep getting a message saying updates are available.
What does this mean?
A. It means that we
have put out an update and you should download it.
^-Top
Q. I am receiving an error message when installing the
latest update, “Operation Must Use an Updatable Query.”
A. You do not have
administrative rights to write to the folder where the
program’s data is being installed.
RUNNING THE Y9
^-Top
Q. I’m
new to the Y9. What do I do first?
A. The Y9 Reporter
Premier is very flexible and there is no one way or correct
way of using it as users can and do use it very differently
from one another. However, in general what most people will
do is;
1. Import their
call report data into the program.
2. Then fill in the Y9LP schedules manually and if
necessary the Y11 schedules.
3. Consolidate all of the data into the Y9C schedules.
4. Carefully go over your numbers and make any
Adjustments or Eliminations necessary (see below).
5. Check your edits and transmit.

IMPORTING THE
CALL REPORT
Q. How do I
import my call report?
A. There are several
ways to import your call report data. First we need to know
a few things. Do you use FIS’s Callreporter Premier?
If yes,
are the Callreporter Premier and Y9 Reporter Premier both
installed on the same PC?
If no, we can still import your
call report data no matter what software you are using.
Steps for importing Callreporter Premier data on the same PC
(meaning both Callreporter Premier and Y9 Reporter Premier
are on the same PC):
1. Open the Y9
Reporter Premier.
2. From either the Utilities menu or from the Data Flow
Chart, select Import Call Report.
3. The Import Call Report screen will appear and you
should see your bank(s) listed in the lower left corner
of the screen. Each bank will have a check box next to
it. Put a check into each box for each bank you wish to
import.
4. Click on the Import button in the middle of the
screen and it will have 3 choices in a drop down menu.
Select Import Selected (checked) Callreporter Premier
Banks.
5. The call report data will automatically import and
the bank name, FDIC certificate # and the date it was
imported will appear in the large window at the top.
NOTE; The last import performed (last quarter’s) is
always shown in this window. After importing the date
will change to reflect the new import. If you forget to
import the new data, the old data is still present and
it will consolidate which will result in incorrect
values being sent to the Y9C schedules.

Callreporter Premier.
2. From the Utilities menu choose Create Y9 Export File.
3. This will open a Dialogue box that will allow you to
create and save the Y9 Export File anywhere you choose.
You will need to move this file to the PC where the Y9
Reporter Premier software is installed and save it to a
convenient location so you know where the file is.
4. Open the Y9 Reporter Premier.
5. From either the Utilities menu or from the Data Flow
Chart, select Import Call Report and the Import Call
Report screen will appear.
6. Click on the Import button in the middle of the
screen and it will have 3 choices in a drop down menu.
Select Import Y9 Export File.

Steps for importing call report data
if you do not use FIS’s Callreporter Premier. It does not
matter where the programs are installed, the procedure is
the same:
1. You must first
create a transmission file. If you do not know how to do
this, contact your software vendor.
2. Open the Y9 Reporter Premier.
3. From either the Utilities menu or from the Data Flow
Chart, select Import Call Report and the Import Call
Report screen will appear.
4. Click on the Import button in the middle of the
screen and it will have 3 choices in a drop down menu.
5. Select Import Call Report Transmission File.

CONSOLIDATING DATA
Q. Why doesn’t my audit trail have that much information in
it?
A. Whenever you
consolidate, the Audit trail will only contain data from the
last consolidation performed. So if for example you
consolidate the call report data, the audit trail will only
have that data. Then if you consolidate the LP schedules,
the audit trail will only have that data. If however you
consolidate both the LP and call report at the same time it
will contain data from both sources. You can choose to
consolidate all of your data sources at one time and the
audit trail will contain everything.
^-Top
Q. Why does it look like all my numbers are doubled after
consolidating?
A. On the
Consolidation screen, there is a selection to Include
Schedule Data. If your numbers have doubled then that means
that you have already consolidated some data and/or values
already exist on the schedules. Then you chose to
consolidate something else and the item Include Schedule
Data was also checked. This will add whatever is being
consolidated to the values already on the schedules. This
can happen if you want consolidate Adjustments or
Eliminations because selecting either will by default
automatically check Include Schedule Data. We can fix this
by choosing the option to Zero Initialize Schedules along
with all of the items to be consolidated. This will zero ALL
ITEMS on the schedules and then resend everything you want
to the Y9C schedules.
^-Top
Q. Why aren’t some of my numbers from my call report being
picked up after consolidation?
A. Everything in the
Y9 that has direct 1 to 1 relationship to the call report is
mapped. So if an item isn’t being picked up from the call
report and transferred to the Y9C it is because of one of
several things. Either it simply isn’t mapped because it
isn’t directly related to the Y9C or the value isn’t in the
call report to begin with or someone has removed the
mapping.
We give you access to the Mapping Tables from the Utilities
menu. On the Utilities menu select Edit Mappings to
Y9C.
This will bring up a screen where we can see everything that
is mapped from various data sources. In the lower right hand
corner, select which reporting form you want to view or
edit. On the left are all of the Y9C line items. Schedules
that have mappings have a blue star. If you open the
schedule you will see all the individual line items. The
items that are highlighted in yellow indicate a mapping.
Items that are white are not mapped. Clicking on an item
that is yellow will display what is mapped to it in the
middle of the screen. You can edit these by;
1. Choosing the
line item you want to edit on the left.
2. Choose the reporting form you want to get the data
from on the lower right.
3. Find the line item in the upper right and drag it
into the middle of the screen and it is now mapped.
Future consolidations
will now send the value(s) from the chosen items to the Y9C.
If you do not want an item mapped, simply delete it from the
middle screen by selecting it and using the Delete key on
your keyboard.

Q.
I have some Non-bank subsidiary numbers that need inclusion
in the Y9C but I do not need to fill out the Y11. Is there a
way to consolidate these numbers so they appear in the Audit
Trail?
A. Yes. The program
will allow you to create a Non-Bank Subsidiary form that is
not an Y11 but rather a duplicate copy of the Y9C schedules.
On this form you can enter your non-bank values and
consolidate them into the actual Y9C form so they will
appear on the Audit trail. You can create a Non-Bank
Subsidiary in the same you can create any other subsidiary
by clicking on the node for it on the Schedules Explorer
screen on the left or by going up to the File menu and
selecting New and choosing what you like from the list.

ELIMINATIONS
Q. After consolidating, some numbers are doubled because
they are reported in both the call report and the LP or Y11
schedules. Is there an easy way to eliminate these doubled
values?
A. Yes. The program
has an Elimination feature that targets items that are
likely to be doubled. From either the Utilities menu or the
Data Flow Chart, select Eliminations. This screen will
display these values, which reporting forms they originate
from, the total that will appear on the Y9C, and allow you
to subtract any portion of these values that you need. These
eliminations will also be reflected on the Audit
trail when
you consolidate them. NOTE; anything that you would like to
adjust that isn’t included in the Eliminations can be
adjusted using the Adjustment feature.

TRANSMITTING
Q. How do I transmit the Y9, the LP and/or Y11? Is it the
same as the call report?
A. It is not the same
as the call report. All report forms are transmitted to the
Federal Reserve via the FRB’s IESUB website. You must
contact the FRB and create an account with them and they
will give you further information for this. The Y9 Reporter
Premier software simply makes the necessary files for all of
the reporting forms by choosing each one individually and
clicking on the Telephone icon. This will open a dialogue
box that allows you to save the file wherever you wish. Just
be sure to put it in convenient location that you can find
again. Once the file(s) are created you would log into the
IESUB website and choose to upload your file(s). You will
need to browse to the saved location.

AMENDMENTS & RESTORING A
PRIOR QUARTER
Q. How do I
go back to a prior quarter?
A. Open the Y9 Reporter Premier. At the top of the screen
there is the Tools Menu. In the Tools menu choose
Call Manager. In the Call Manager you can select any quarter you
wish. The program will open that quarter and you have full,
complete use of that quarter. You can make changes, reprint,
retransmit amendments or do anything you like. This will not
affect your current data.

Q. I’m getting an error Requested Registry Access is Denied.
What does this mean?
A. This often happens when you are trying to go back to a
prior quarter. You do not have administrative rights to the
registry. To perform certain functions in the Y9 Reporter
program, it will require that you have rights to the area in
your PC’s registry where we make those entries. Your IT
person or Network Administrator will need to give you full
rights to the folder where we put registry entries. This
folder can be found under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegulatorySolutions\

CREATING A PDF
^-Top
Q. I need to send/email the report to someone else. Is there
an easy way of doing that?
A. Yes. You can create a PDF document that virtually anyone
can read using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Open the Y9 Reporter
program and click on the Print icon. Select what you would
like to print or just select “Print All”. After you have
made your selection, you will see the “PDF” button at the
bottom of the screen. Click it and you will be able to save
this wherever you wish. After saving it, you can then send
to anyone as an email attachment.
